This is the fourth study in the Journey Through Scripture series. I twelve beautifully produced lessons, you will learn who the early Church Fathers were and how they shaped the way we read Scripture.
You’ll discover the Church’s favorite tools for reading it, and you’l understand Scripture’s relationship to Tradition and, in particular, to the Sacraments.

What’s more, you’ll recognize the powerful effect of Scripture on the Church Fathers.
For them, this was no academic pursuit. Their love of God’s Word transformed their lives —- just as it has the power to transform ours today.

Wednesday Evenings at 6:15 pm • September 15 - November 17 • in the St. Lawrence Room   •   10 sessions

In The Creed, a new film series blending both documentary footage and dynamic talks, Bishop Robert Barron guides viewers into the depths of the Nicene Creed, a fourth-century statement of faith that has profoundly influenced both Eastern and Western spirituality, theology, and liturgy.
Explore the meaning of “belief” and whether it contradicts reason; the creative love of God the Father; the shocking mystery of his Son’s Incarnation and the great drama of his Crucifixion and Resurrection; the life-giving power of the Spiritus Sanctus, or “Holy Breath,” shared between them; and the mystical reality of the Church, which calls all of humanity out of the world of sin to receive forgiveness and participate in Christ’s divinity—not only in the next world but here and now.
The Creed will help you rediscover the great intellectual and spiritual depths of Christian doctrine and reclaim the unity, clarity, and conviction of the Christian faith. $10.00 Study Guide

THE CATECHISM of the CATHOLIC CHURCH
Fr. Steve will host a four-pillared lecture series on the beautiful Catechism of the Catholic Church. These four different lectures, with four different hosts, will present an outline on what the Church teaches on what we believe, how we worship, how we live, and how we pray.
Beginning with the First Pillar of the CCC, Todd Sylvester will offer the Profession of Faith, “I Believe” - “We Believe”. The Creed forms the framework from these teachings on what we believe. October 6, 2021 • 7 pm
The Third Pillar “Life in Christ” will be hosted by Fr. Gil Pierre. From the dignity of the human person, the human community and God’s Salvation, this third section uses the Ten Commandments to explain how we live out our life of faith. October 13, 2021 • 7 pm
The Second Pillar will be hosted by Fr. Steve Williams as the CCC speaks to “The Celebration of the Christian Mystery”. The Sacraments offer an in-depth journey through the covenant oaths, the mysteries of the faith. This Second Pillar sums up how we worship. October 20, 2021 • 7 pm
The Fourth Pillar delves into how we pray. Barry Little will offer the Church’s teachings on “Prayer in the Christian Life”. From the forms of prayer to the expressions of prayer the CCC offers the ‘Our Father” as a summary of the whole Gospel. October 27, 2021 • 7 pm
